§ 14-27. Statement of emergency.

Latest version.
  • Because of continued potential unpredictable high water levels of Lake Erie, combined with certain winds, rains, atmospheric pressures, and other weather conditions, a state of emergency continues to exist which could cause the flooding of certain areas in the township. Because the township has been and continues to be unable to secure any reasonable grants or assistance in protecting its citizens from the rising waters of Lake Erie, because there is a realistic and actual fear of uncontrollable flooding in the near future, and because these governed areas are at or below the 100-year floodplain elevation as established by the federal government through the Federal Flood Insurance Program, the township determines that adequate protection must be maintained.
