§ 10-113. Definitions.

  • The following words, terms and phrases, when used in this article, shall have the meanings ascribed to them in this section, except where the context clearly indicates a different meaning:

    Excavation means the removal of top soil, earth, sand, or rock for any purpose other than temporary excavation for building construction purposes pursuant to a duly issued permit under the township building ordinance.

    Soil, sand, and rock removal means the moving, digging, or transporting of such soil, sand, or rock from one premises to another or from one area to another upon the same premises, except that which is done as an accepted practice of tillage in the use of the soil or sand for agriculture.
